About Verona, WI
Verona, Wisconsin was originally inhabited by Native Americans until it was ceded to the U.S. government, during the years of 1829 through 1832. The first grist mill in the county was finished in 1844 and settlement of the area revolved around the construction of the mill that was named Badger Mill. A few years later the mill was sold to a man named Samuel Taylor who expanded the mill to include a store and a post office.
